1) Codex of Wolfenbüttel

The Wolfenbüttel manuscript was made in Bavaria before 1006 by order of the wife of Prince Boleslaus II, Princess Emma. The codex contains a legend of St. Wenceslas written two decades earlier by Bishop Gumpold of Mantua. It also contains the oldest surviving depiction of St. Wenceslas.
